“To me Macy’s is the perfect department store in the United States where everybody can find what they’re looking for without ruining their budget,” Karl Lagerfeld, July 2011
On Wednesday of this week, the Karl Lagerfeld’s collection for Macy’s Impulse department was displayed at the Yellow Korner gallery in SoHo. The collection will be available to the public within 235 Macy’s locations beginning August 31st.
As the head designer and creative director of the fashion house, Karl Lagerfeld has established himself as an chic, edgy, and iconic designer. Lagerfeld’s collection for Macy’s includes polished and high-collared dresses, blouses, airy tops, patterns, florals, tweed and turtleneck pieces. The collection focuses on accentuating a woman’s shoulders in a very elegant, sexy, and feminine way.The line resembles the classic nature of Chanel as well as the dangerous undertones of Lagerfeld’s previous works.
The Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s Impulse line will be affordable as the prices will fall within the better zone of the store, with pieces ranging from around $49 to $129. In the past Macy’s has paired up with many different and respected designers but this is one of the most exciting and anticipated collaborations to appear in Macy’s stores to date.
Here are some of the pieces we look forward to seeing this fall:
